About - Shaklee Center Metropolitan District No. 1 

Shaklee Center Metropolitan District No. 1 is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, park and recreation, water, sanitation, transportation, mosquito control, safety protection, fire protection, and television relay and translation improvements of the District, and the provision of covenant enforcement, design review, and security services; and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plan for the District approved by the Town Council of the Town of Hudson, Colorado on December 2, 2015 as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).

The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District.  The District is located in the Town of Hudson, Colorado.  The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that the Town of Hudson does not provide.

The District, along with Shaklee Centre Metropolitan Districts No. 2 through 6, which are inactive, may issue Bonds with a combined  maximum amount of $325,000,000.  Ad valorem property taxes, fees, rates, tolls, penalties, charges, or any other legally available revenue may be used to repay such debt.

The District may assess a maximum mill levy of fifty (50) mills, as adjusted for statutory or legislative changes on or after January 1, 2016, to repay such Bonds.

The District must file an Annual Report to the Town of Hudson Town Attorney’s Office, the Weld County Clerk and Recorder, the Division of Local Government, and the State Auditor.

The District’s boundaries overlap with the boundaries of AIMS Junior College, Central Colorado Water Conservancy District, Central Colorado Water Conservancy Sub District, High Plains Library District, Hudson Fire Protection District, Town of Hudson, Platte Valley Conservation District, Keenesburg RE-3J School District, and Weld County.
